In the 1970's before there were sign plotters and large format 4-color printers, my father Richard James Granados hand painted the billboards that lined the interstate 10 in the desert of Palm Springs, California. He used hand lettering and pinstriping to customize lowriders, Harly-Davidson motorcycles, trucks, airplanes, speed boats and race cars. I grew up in his art shop where he air-brushed life size illustrations on the sides of vans. I've incorporated these techniques in layout, color theory, lighting and placement into building commercial brand recognition.
