“I Love You” is among the most commonly used expressions in any language - simple and succinct, yet one of great meaning and consequence. Ramses’ I Love You (2011) is a waveform of that very sentiment, recorded from the artist’s voice at 528 hz, rendered in static then printed in silver metallic ink on paper. While some of the expression’s inherent meaning may not translate into a visual medium, a new emphasis emerges when one is able to see “I Love You” at work.

Ramses accomplishes a rare feat with “I Love You,” revealing that a voice, or in this instance an expression, can be experienced more than one way. I Love You is one part of a new series of audio waveforms rendered in silver metallic ink, each work is numbered from 100 to 1. Series of 100.
